The summer of 2026 saw great success for the summer shuttles on the Île d'Oléron, transporting over 82,000 passengers. Adjustments made this year, such as adding a bus to the red line and implementing real-time information, were well-received by users, enhancing the network's efficiency and comfort.
The maritime link between the island and La Rochelle also experienced increased traffic, with 38,935 passengers recorded during the season. Excellent user feedback highlights the service's quality and usefulness for travel between the mainland and the island, confirming its attractiveness.
The cycle network continues to gain popularity, particularly with new developments like the Saint-Denis <> Phare de Chassiron section. Over 87,000 detections were recorded on this stretch alone, and the entire network saw 1,024,865 passages across 10 counting points, demonstrating the widespread adoption of these infrastructures and the growing enthusiasm for cycling.
“"We must thank this enthusiasm for cycling and the summer shuttle, which eases our roads and allows workers, nurses, firefighters, and those dependent on cars to travel more easily. To encourage this momentum, we must continue to develop safe cycling facilities and raise awareness among cyclists about respecting traffic laws."
For the 2027 season, the Transport à la Demande (TAD) will be available year-round, including during the summer. This new offering will strengthen the mobility solutions provided to residents and visitors throughout the year.
