Households currently using bags for their waste, without individual bins, will see their habits change from mid-November 2026. Prepaid yellow and white bags will be gradually replaced by a voluntary drop-off point (PAV) system. Access to these PAVs will require an individual badge.
These new voluntary drop-off points will allow residents to deposit their waste at any time, under two distinct conditions. Recyclable packaging and paper (yellow bin) must be deposited loose and will remain free of charge. Household waste (black bin) must be placed in a classic trash bag, and each deposit will be charged. This new system aims to offer residents more flexibility, preventing them from having to store their waste at home until the next collection day.
The installation of the bins is scheduled from November 2 to 14, 2026. The exact locations of the PAVs will be available on an interactive map on the Marennes Basin Community of Communes website once they are operational. Access to the PAVs will require an individual badge. Concerned residents are invited to collect their badge from the waste management office, Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., by presenting an ID and the latest waste collection bill.
Households still possessing prepaid bags can continue to use them until their stock is depleted. Bags presented for collection will be picked up. It is important to note that this change exclusively concerns households currently using bags; residents who already have individual bins are not affected by this evolution.
