The municipality of Vaux-sur-Mer is mobilizing to support the children of Nguith, a village located in Senegal. Jocelyne Olagnier, deputy for childhood and youth, and Stéphane Baldy, head of the childhood and youth department, handed over a first box of cultural materials to Alassane MAR, municipal councilor of Saint-Sulpice-de-Royan.
This initial donation includes school books and CD-ROMs featuring films and music, intended for the children of Nguith. This material will be shipped by container in December to the hometown of Mr. Alassane MAR, located in the heart of the historic Djoloff region, approximately 300 km from Dakar.
This initiative will provide valuable educational and cultural resources to the village children. A second donation is already scheduled for November 17, in the presence of members of the Children's Municipal Council. It will include complementary materials such as library books, video cassettes, and cots for the village's daycare center.
Through this action, the municipality of Vaux-sur-Mer aims to raise awareness among younger generations about the values of mutual aid and generosity.
