France will be the guest of honor at the 15th edition of the Pixelatl Festival, the main Latin American event dedicated to animation, comic books, and video games. From November 7 to 14, 2026, French creative know-how will be showcased in Zapopan and Guadalajara, Mexico. This participation is part of the Great Franco-Mexican Celebration, commemorating 200 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Angoulême will play a special role thanks to the historical cooperation between the Maison des Auteurs d’Angoulême and the Casa del Autor de Zapopan. Within this framework, two studios from the region, Les Films du Poisson Rouge and Caribara Animation, will travel to meet their Mexican counterparts and explore new international co-production opportunities.
This presence from Angoulême illustrates the territory's central role in creative and cultural industries, particularly in animation and comic books. It aims to strengthen professional exchanges between France and Mexico and foster the emergence of new joint projects.
The festival will also host a significant French delegation comprising directors, producers, distributors, and representatives of reference institutions, including Jérémy Clapin, Véronique Encrenaz (MIFA Annecy), the studio Vivement Lundi!, Ikki Films, and Miyu Distribution. The objective is to promote French excellence while developing collaborations with Latin American professionals.
Through this participation and the involvement of Angoulême stakeholders, Pixelatl 2026 confirms Angoulême's international dimension and its role as a bridge between French creative sectors and emerging Latin American markets.
