The commune of Garat has recently undertaken several projects to modernize its roads and improve its living environment, focusing on safety and community well-being.

The municipality of Garat has initiated a series of works aimed at enhancing the safety and quality of life for its residents. These initiatives are part of an ongoing effort to modernize local infrastructure.
The first phase of works on the route de Bassac has been completed in its lower section. At the locality known as Le Grand Lac, a drain has been buried and two curves have been adjusted to improve visibility and traffic flow. Additionally, the route du Gardoir has been resurfaced up to the edge of the white path.
The rue du Stade is now receiving particular attention regarding safety. Fully classified as an urban area, the speed limit is now set at 30 km/h. Speed bumps have been installed to secure the exits from the stadium and the Atrium, areas frequently visited by families and young people. Transit is also limited to vehicles under 3.5 tonnes. Bollards will soon be added to permanently secure this exit.
The commune's technical services have also restored the washhouses at Moulin Barret and Bragette, which are considered historical landmarks to be preserved and passed on.
Other improvements have been made to enhance residents' daily lives, including the refurbishment of benches at the war memorial and the installation of picnic tables at the church, the early childhood park, and at Le Gardoir.
The municipality wished to thank the technical services for their work and the residents for their patience during the completion of these projects.
