The city of Brive-la-Gaillarde pulsed with the spirit of the apple this Saturday, October 3rd, celebrating the 10th anniversary of its Apple Festival. The event drew a large crowd around the collegiate church, offering activities, tastings, and a new apple tart record.

The Apple Festival, in its 10th edition, transformed the town center of Brive on Saturday, October 3rd. Young and old gathered around the collegiate church to enjoy various activities, tastings, and witness the establishment of a new record.
In all its forms, the Golden du Limousin was honored: apple juice pressing and production, whole apples for crunching, cider, tarts, and flognardes delighted visitors. The free miniature train, specially decorated for the occasion, was constantly in demand.
The contest for the most beautiful apple tart, reserved for children, saw a record participation with 129 young contestants, ten of whom were awarded for their creations.
The highlight of this anniversary edition was undoubtedly the challenge set by 13 bakers and pastry chefs from Corrèze. They created a giant apple tart stretching 245 meters, from Toulzac street to the collegiate church, setting an unprecedented record for the city.
This spectacular and gourmet performance concluded with the free distribution of the entire tart to the public, down to the last slice. A fitting tribute to one of the region's emblematic products, marking the festival's tenth anniversary.
