Paul Chaput, President of CMA NA - Creuse, visited two artisanal businesses in Creuse: 'La Baguette Dunoise' in Dun-le-Palestel and the 'SHIFUMI' ceramic workshop in Saint-Sulpice-le-Dunois, to assess the local economy.

The proximity network of the Chamber of Trades and Crafts (CMA) of Nouvelle-Aquitaine closely follows the lives of artisans. As part of this initiative, Paul Chaput, President of CMA NA - Creuse, met with Benoit PAPILLAUD, a baker in Dun-le-Palestel, and Marion BALET, a ceramicist in Saint-Sulpice-le-Dunois. These visits aim to understand on-the-ground realities and support local businesses.
In Dun-le-Palestel, Benoit PAPILLAUD, established since January 2026 at the 'La Baguette Dunoise' bakery, emphasizes quality and adaptability. His establishment offers organic, sourdough, and gluten-free products, as well as pure butter pastries and local specialties like the Creusois potato pie. The team of three, including a pastry apprentice, has recently expanded its range of homemade pastries.
In Saint-Sulpice-le-Dunois, within the 'SHIFUMI' workshop nestled in the heart of the Chabanne woods, ceramicist Marion BALET has created a unique artistic universe. Her work integrates ceramics, mosaics, and pottery, with creations embedded in the architecture, such as the steps leading to her artist's gîte 'Le Souffle Bleu'. The workshop also offers weekly courses and workshops in modeling and raku, open to all.
These visits allow CMA NA 23 officials and advisors to monitor the local economy, understand the challenges faced by business leaders (investment, recruitment, training), and provide concrete solutions.
