The municipality of Châtillon sur Thouet is advancing its Cour Oasis project with the installation of a wooden reading area, offering children a space for calm and reading.

The municipality of Châtillon sur Thouet is actively pursuing its Cour Oasis project, aiming to transform the schoolyard into a more pleasant, cooler space better adapted to high summer temperatures.
A first concrete step is already visible with the installation of a small wooden reading corner. This new space will allow children to relax, read, and enjoy a moment of calm during breaks.
Ultimately, the project plans to add more shaded areas, increase vegetation, create cooler spaces, and improve rainwater management. The overall objective is also to promote biodiversity and enhance the living environment for all students.
Born from a student's idea, this project has benefited from the participation of numerous stakeholders, including children, parents, educational teams, municipal agents, elected officials, as well as the CPIE de Gâtine Poitevine and SCAPE, an engineering firm specializing in landscape design.
The town hall is committed to sharing the progress of this project as work continues. Further novelties are expected for the children starting from the November back-to-school period.
