The town of Melle and the Socio-Cultural Center are organizing a rally on Saturday, October 10, 2026, for Pink October, an event aimed at informing about cancer risks and promoting healthy lifestyles.

For three years, the Socio-Cultural Center and the town of Melle have collaborated to organize Pink October, a national event dedicated to breast cancer awareness. This year, the initiative is expanding to include other types of cancers and is supported by an enlarged network of partners, including the Communauté de Communes Mellois en Poitou.
With a fun and friendly approach, a rally has been designed to bring together all age groups. The main objective is to inform residents about cancer risk factors and collectively consider ways to eliminate or reduce them.
The program will begin at 10:30 AM with a coffee reception in the outdoor courtyard of the Socio-Cultural Center. The morning will feature a forum and games, including information and screening stands for various cancers, as well as health-focused workshops and games.
From 12:00 PM, a shared "Auberge Espagnole" (potluck) meal will be offered. In the afternoon, starting at 1:30 PM, workshops will address the impact of the environment on health, with a group departure towards the Temple. At 2:30 PM, the group will move to the Parc de la Garenne via the Chemin de la Découverte, where workshops on the benefits of physical activity are scheduled. In case of rain, activities will move indoors.
Participants will return to the CSC between 4:00 PM and 5:30 PM for a food prevention workshop followed by a snack. While it's possible to attend only one workshop, a prize draw will reward those who complete the entire rally. Carpooling is available for people with reduced mobility.
