The Communauté d'agglomération du Bassin d'Arcachon Nord (COBAN) is piloting a new collection system for sports and leisure items (ASL) until November 17, 2026, at its waste disposal centers in Andernos-les-Bains and Lège-Cap Ferret.

This initiative aims to collect more equipment such as unusable bicycles, team or individual sports gear, windsurfing boards, and other bulky leisure items, to promote their reuse, repair, or recycling. Two specific bins have been installed to accommodate these items.
The program is open to individuals, as well as associations and leisure structures that have this type of unused equipment. It helps prevent overloading the usual collection channels while giving a new purpose to bulky or long items.
Regarding bicycles, the INSERCYCLES channel remains the preferred option for those that can still be repurposed. However, heavily damaged bicycles and single wheels can now be deposited in this new dedicated bin.
This one-off operation is an experiment available until November 17, 2026. COBAN encourages users to take advantage of their visit to the waste disposal center to give a second life to their old sports and leisure items.
