The Arcachon Municipal Police has released its summer intervention report, highlighting 10,000 field actions and a reduction in incivilities.

This summer, facing heatwaves, large crowds, and fires, the Municipal Police of Arcachon took action to ensure everyone could enjoy the city safely. The Rapid Intervention Brigade recorded 5,000 interventions, while the Proximity Intervention Brigade handled another 5,000, particularly concerning incivilities. The police noted a significant decrease in non-compliance with rules for cyclists and electric scooters.
The Urban Supervision Center, equipped with 80 cameras and a video operator present 7 days a week from 9 AM to 4 AM, played a crucial role. This network led to the observation of over 500 incidents within the territory and resulted in more than 200 fines.
For the first time in 2026, the Arcachon Municipal Police enhanced its cooperation with Customs. Five joint operations were organized, including those with canine units specialized in drug detection.
A nautical brigade was also piloted. In just 9 days of operation, this brigade carried out 173 interventions.
