Wreck of the electric pinasse 'La Silencieuse' discovered at the bottom of the Bassin d'Arcachon.

A wreck of an electric pinasse, named 'La Silencieuse' and launched in 2008, was discovered by the Marine Park in the Arcachon Bay.

As part of the REDEMA project, aimed at reducing marine waste, the Marine Park of Arcachon Bay made a notable discovery. During an underwater waste detection operation on Tuesday, September 29, a pinasse wreck was located at a depth of 11 meters in the Mapouchet sector.
Sonar images, taken by SEMANTIC-TS, clearly identified the wreck. A subsequent dive confirmed it was an 'electric tillole', an old name for pinasses, and specifically the prototype of the 'Les Silencieuses' electric pinasse series.
This 8-meter boat, entirely built of wood and of Testerine origin, was the first electric boat to navigate Arcachon Bay from its launch in 2008. It was also equipped with a mast for sailing.
The vessel had sunk on June 26, 2017, at 7:45 PM in the Mapouchet channel following a breakdown. The two occupants were rescued. Despite searches undertaken at the time, the wreck had never been found.
The owner, informed of the discovery, is delighted and now wishes to salvage the wreck to preserve this local maritime heritage.
This discovery is part of the REDEMA project (Reduction of marine waste), funded 70% by the DLAL-FEAMPA of the Local Action Group for Fishing and Aquaculture of the Pays Bassin d'Arcachon-Val de l'Eyre. The project uses technologies such as a multibeam echosounder to map waste and coordinates removal and awareness actions.
