As part of its ecological transition policy, the City of Artigues-près-Bordeaux is studying the possibility of installing an anti-waste refrigerator in the municipality, in partnership with Bordeaux Métropole.

The municipality plans to experimentally deploy a community refrigerator under the market hall, near the town center. These refrigerators, which first appeared in Germany in 2013, allow anyone to freely deposit or collect still-consumable food items, accessible 24/7. Other towns in the metropolitan area, such as Bègles, Cenon, Eysines, and Pessac, already have this type of facility.
To better understand residents' expectations and needs regarding this 'Zero Waste' initiative, the town hall invites the public to complete an online questionnaire.
