As of this Monday, September 28, 2026, the forest fire vigilance level has been lowered to yellow (moderate vigilance) for the entire Gironde department.
The municipality of Avensan, classified as predominantly forest, reminds residents of the applicable rules regarding human presence in exposed areas, the use of motors, the organization of events, and access to developed leisure sites.
However, it remains strictly forbidden to smoke in exposed areas (woods, forests, heathlands, and up to 200 meters from these areas), use open fires, transport fire (including barbecues and braziers), discard any incandescent debris, use thermal brush-cutting tools such as blowtorches, burn green waste in the open, or use flying lanterns.
The municipality urges everyone to remain cautious and vigilant to protect the forest massifs.
