A call for papers has been issued for the 43rd international conference of ISIAT, to be held in Bordeaux on Monday, January 25, and Tuesday, January 26, 2027. Organized by the Social Careers Department of ISIAT-IUT Bordeaux-Montaigne, UMR CNRS 5319 PASSAGES, and the University Bordeaux-Montaigne, in partnership with several international and local institutions, this conference will address the role of social and socio-cultural animation in migration and homelessness.
The deadline for submitting proposals is Monday, October 26, 2026. Feedback from the scientific committee is expected by the end of November 2026, with the final program to be published in mid-December 2026. Full texts, for post-peer review publication, are due by January 20, 2027.
The conference aims to explore the links between migration and the fight against exclusion, issues often treated separately but which significantly intersect in professional practices. It will particularly focus on the role of social and socio-cultural animation in welcoming and supporting precarious migrants and homeless individuals, fostering dialogue between research, training, and professional practices.
Five thematic axes will be explored: public action and migration policies, memory policies, public affiliations and experiences, integration and diversity, and the training and support of professionals.
