Organ and tissue donation can save or improve lives. In France, the principle of presumed consent applies: every person is considered a donor unless they have expressed their refusal during their lifetime. When organ retrieval is considered, relatives are consulted to ascertain the deceased's wishes. Discussing organ donation with one's family therefore helps communicate one's decision and ensures it is respected.
The City has signed a charter of commitment with the collective Greffes+, formalizing its adherence to the network of Ambassador Cities for Organ Donation. To raise awareness among the widest possible audience, information panels have been installed at the entrances to Floirac.
