As part of the European Week for Waste Reduction, the Jalle-Eau Bourde Community of Communes is organizing a clothing collection in elementary schools from Monday November 23 to Thursday November 26, 2026.

The aim is to raise children's awareness of the environmental impact of the textile industry. Collected clothing will be handled by Le Relais Gironde for valorization. A group of children visited the facility on Wednesday November 4 to learn about the different stages of the valorization chain.
Throughout the week, facilitators will educate students on these issues. Additionally, a group of students from each school will create a awareness poster to be exhibited on Saturday November 28 at the "Village animations" in the Querandeau space in Saint Jean d’Illac.
The Community of Communes encourages residents to deposit their clothes and shoes in closed bags at the participating elementary schools.
