The Semaine Bleue (Blue Week), taking place from October 5 to 11, 2026, has the theme this year « Connecting all ages in committed territories ». On this occasion, the CIAS of Sud Gironde and the Community of Communes are offering a rich program of events aimed at strengthening prevention, social connection, and intergenerational exchanges.
On Tuesday, October 6, a day dedicated to senior road safety will be held in Langon. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Maison des associations, participants over 60 years old can address the challenges of driving with age through prevention workshops, essential rule reminders, advice on health and driving, and a quiz. On Wednesday, October 7, it's time for conviviality in Saint-Symphorien with an intergenerational karaoke event. From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., the village hall will come alive with music, dancing, and a DJ set, with a complimentary snack. This free event, open to all, aims to foster encounters and exchanges between generations in a festive atmosphere. Also on Wednesday, October 7, the Intercommunal Media Library La Quincaillerie in Langon will host the show « Traits – Portraits : Lettres à Jeanine » by Compagnie l’Atelier Provisoire. At 3 p.m., this free show, intended for ages 15 and up, will combine drawing, storytelling, and insights into the life paths of elderly people. Finally, on Thursday, October 8, and Friday, October 9, artistic encounters will take place in Langon between schoolchildren and seniors. As part of intergenerational projects led by the CIAS of Sud Gironde, students will visit Laure Julian Dallet's exhibition at Les Carmes. These projects, funded by the Commission des financeurs, aim to combat the isolation of the elderly by creating opportunities for encounters and sharing.
