La vulgarisation scientifique séduit à Bordeaux et Agen

Université Bordeaux Montaigne

The university's back-to-school period was marked by two major scientific popularization events, the Night of Research in Bordeaux and Agen, and the Scientific Circuit, attracting over 2,100 people, including 1,073 students.

In Bordeaux, over 1,000 visitors explored the work of teaching and research staff and doctoral students from the Université Bordeaux Montaigne at Cap Sciences on Friday, September 25th. Fun workshops, 180-second thesis presentations, investigative formats like "Searching for Meaning" and "Find the Intruder," radio interventions, and a round table on the journal Ebullition(s) made research in Arts, Literature, Languages, and Human and Social Sciences accessible.
For the second consecutive year, the Night of Research also took place in Agen. On Friday, October 2nd, 200 students from Lycée Jean-Baptiste de Baudre benefited from presentations on LiDAR technology, Southwest mosaics, and law. In the evening, the bar brasserie l’Indé hosted the public for quizzes, mini-talks, and workshops led by 10 researchers and doctoral students from the University of Bordeaux and the Université Bordeaux Montaigne.
The Night of Research in Bordeaux is co-organized by Cap Sciences, the University of Bordeaux, the Université Bordeaux Montaigne, the CNRS Aquitaine, the Inria Center of the University of Bordeaux, the INRAE Nouvelle-Aquitaine Bordeaux center, Inserm, Bordeaux INP, and Arts et Métiers. In Agen, the event is co-organized by the Université Bordeaux Montaigne, the University of Bordeaux, and Cap Sciences, with the support of the city of Agen and bar l’Indé. Both events are supported by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, the Science with and for Society label, The European Researchers’ Night, and the European Union.
The following week, from October 5th to 9th, the Université Bordeaux Montaigne participated in the Scientific Circuit. Researchers and doctoral students met with students at Lycée Arnaut Daniel in Ribérac (Dordogne), Victor Duruy in Mont-de-Marsan (Landes), and Lycée de Navarre in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port (Pyrénées-Atlantiques). At the GeoDock on the Montaigne campus, a class visited the exhibition "A Globe, Worlds" and learned about maps. Approximately 800 students participated in university workshops.
The Scientific Circuit, organized as part of the Fête de la science, is supported by the Université Bordeaux Montaigne, the CNRS Aquitaine, the University of Bordeaux, the CEA, the INRAE Nouvelle-Aquitaine-Bordeaux center, the Inria Center of the University of Bordeaux, Inserm, Arts et métiers, Bordeaux INP, and the University of Pau and Pays de l'Adour, with the support of Cap Sciences and the Bordeaux Academy.
