The Nouvelle-Aquitaine startup PORTYQ, originating from research at XLIM in Limoges and the Bordeaux Optics Institute, is developing innovative solutions to protect data against the future threats of quantum computers.

PORTYQ focuses on two complementary approaches to ensure data security: post-quantum cryptography, using new algorithms resistant to quantum computing, and quantum cryptography, which leverages the laws of physics to secure communications.
The startup successfully integrated its first European project, the European Defence Fund, through an amendment to the initial grant agreement, even before PORTYQ was officially established. This initiative, strongly encouraged by the Xlim laboratory, has accelerated development and enhanced the company's international visibility.
Since the summer, PORTYQ has also been awarded two Horizon Europe project calls focused on open source and digital sovereignty. These successes, stemming from a strong network and trust in their expertise, reinforce the company's European engagement strategy, with projects already identified for the 2027 horizon, particularly through the EIC Accelerator.
ADI Nouvelle-Aquitaine supports companies like PORTYQ in preparing applications and responding to European project calls, offering assistance in identifying funding opportunities, structuring projects, and mobilizing the right partners.
