As part of October Rose, the Town of Le Teich is organizing a meeting with Émilie Pinel Caron, author of the book "Confidences d’une [brain] guerrière". The event will take place on Saturday, October 24th at 10 am, at the L’EKLA cultural center media library. This session will focus on testimony and discussion about the author's journey facing illness and her resilience.
Émilie Pinel Caron, diagnosed with brain cancer in 2023 and then breast cancer, will share her experience as a patient. She will discuss the upheavals that illness brings to daily life, relationships, and one's perspective on life. The meeting will explore questions such as "How to live with uncertainty?" and "How to redefine priorities and find support from loved ones?", in a spirit of sharing and awareness.
After a presentation of about fifteen minutes by the author, a Q&A session will be offered to the public. This meeting is intended for people affected by illness, their loved ones, and anyone interested in themes of resilience and the resources needed to keep moving forward.
In her book "Confidences d’une [brain] guerrière", Émilie Pinel Caron recounts her first year facing illness. Writing is presented as an essential tool for expressing emotions, coming to terms with fears, and giving meaning to her experience. A book signing will conclude the event.
