The city of Talence was honored at the National Assembly on September 30, receiving the Territories trophy in the category dedicated to communities supporting sports practice.

Frédéric Fargues, deputy mayor in charge of sports, accompanied by the municipal sports department, received the award from the President of the Assembly, Yaël Braun-Pivet. Talence was among the three finalist communities in the Territories category, which recognizes local initiatives promoting sports practice and supporting clubs and athletes.
Established in 2013, the Sport & Management Trophies aim to highlight sport as a tool for health, inclusion, and local development. In Talence, this ambition is supported by facilities that welcome nearly one million users annually, with an investment of 40 million euros over the past six years. Amateur practice involves 6,600 registered members in 45 associations, while high-level sport is also part of Talence's identity, notably through the Décastar.
Regarding sports and health, the Anim & Vous program offers three free activities every Sunday, and municipal employees also benefit from weekly adapted sessions. Throughout the year, over 30 sporting events bring residents together across the city, from the Talence Olympics to the Restos du Cœur race. Children can also discover various disciplines during sports holidays, which attract nearly 500 participants.
This award thus unites the different aspects of sports practice in Talence, from amateur to international level, and from childhood to seniors.
