As part of its 20th-anniversary celebration, the XLIM laboratory welcomed around a hundred middle school students on October 16, 2026. The day, focused on discovery, curiosity, and scientific sharing, aimed to familiarize young people with the laboratory's research activities. Students from the Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot college in Aixe-sur-Vienne and the Clémenceau college in Tulle benefited from an educational and fun approach.
The main objective of this initiative was to introduce young people to the various fields of scientific research and their concrete applications. Through experiments and demonstrations offered by the Scientibus, students explored scientific phenomena, observed experiments, and better understood the technological principles that surround us daily.
Beyond the experimental aspects, this meeting also fostered direct exchanges between students, XLIM's teacher-researchers, and the PLATINOM technical platform staff. These discussions allowed the young attendees to discover research professions and understand the role of each individual in conducting scientific projects.
This day demonstrates XLIM's commitment to making science accessible to the greatest number, stimulating the curiosity of younger generations, and strengthening the links between the research world and schools.
