The New Aquitaine Regional Health Agency (ARS) has commissioned the company Altopictus for a targeted mosquito spraying operation in Parentis-en-Born, following the report of an arbovirus case.

The New Aquitaine Regional Health Agency (ARS) has commissioned the company Altopictus to carry out a targeted mosquito spraying operation in specific areas of the municipality, notably at the Arènes and on the route du petit Bôo. This intervention follows the report of a confirmed case of arbovirus (chikungunya, dengue, or Zika) in a person who had stayed in these areas after being infected outside the town.
This operation, organized as a preventive measure, aims to limit the risk of transmission of these diseases by the tiger mosquito (Aedes albopictus). Residents in the affected areas will be informed of the intervention date via a flyer delivered to their mailboxes by agents from Altopictus.
The insecticide treatment will be carried out by Altopictus, commissioned by the New Aquitaine ARS, within a 150m radius around the places where the infected person stayed. The operation will take place in the coming days, between 10 PM and 7 AM the following morning. The treatment itself is expected to last about an hour.
The exact date of the intervention will be announced by the New Aquitaine ARS. Residents of the concerned areas are invited to consult the recommendations that will be sent to them directly by flyer and relayed on the Town's communication channels.
