Saint-Jean-de-Luz is joining Pink October, the month dedicated to raising awareness and funds for the fight against breast cancer, by offering a series of events throughout October. These initiatives are organized in collaboration with local associations and partners.
Every evening in October, Place Foch is illuminated in pink to show support for the fight against breast cancer.
Several events have already taken place, including a gourmet lunch on Sunday, October 11th, organized by local restaurateurs and featuring the association Nesk à Paillettes. On Tuesday, October 13th, the Lions Club launched the sale of Café Rose at the Halles to benefit the cause.
More events are scheduled: on Friday, October 16th, the Lions Club will continue selling Café Rose coffee pods in attractive pink packaging at the Halles (10 am-3 pm, €10 for 20 capsules). On the same day, the cinema Le Select will host a film exchange at 8:30 pm, screening Alice Winocour's film « Coutures », followed by a discussion on breast cancer with members of Nesk à Paillettes and Dr. Floriane Minne, an oncologist at the Centre Hospitalier de la Côte Basque. Reservations can be made at www.cineluz.fr or at the cinema box office.
On Sunday, October 18th, the Rotary Club Saint-Jean-de-Luz – Vallée de la Nivelle is organizing the Marche Rose (Pink Walk) from 9 am to 2 pm, starting at Place Louis XIV (fee: €10). Online registration is available via helloasso.com. All proceeds will be donated to the Ligue contre le cancer to support patients, their families, and fund prevention efforts.
