During its meeting on October 16, 2026, the Permanent Commission of the Department of Charente-Maritime validated several structuring projects. Agreements were voted for road development works in the communes of Chevanceaux (RD 910 traverse), Grand-Village-Plage (temporary lock development), Chaniers (left-turn development on RD 131), and Thairé (redevelopment of the new RD 113). Parcels were also acquired or alienated in several communes to integrate departmental roads or for development projects.

Social solidarity, the Department's core business, was strengthened by providing a loan guarantee of €1 million for the acquisition of an EHPAD in Bourcefranc-Le-Chapus. The Local Contract for Solidarities 2024-2027 was signed to combat violence against women, support the homeless, and fight food insecurity. Significant funds (€2.8 million) are dedicated to child protection, and the Department is applying for the 'Support for Inclusive Housing Investment – 2026' call for expressions of interest. Professional integration benefits from €134,300 to enhance mobility services and return-to-work solutions.
Environmentally, land acquisitions were made in the communes of Saint-Martin-de-Ré, Dolus-d’Oléron, La Couarde-sur-Mer, Saint-Georges-d’Oléron, and Taugon for Sensitive Natural Areas. An agreement with the Commune of Chaniers concerns the use of pontoons on the Charente river, and a subsidy of €10,500 was granted for the management of the Puyrolland Jacquaire stopover. An agreement with Coopérative Carbone aims to promote the 'low carbon' certification of projects by departmental authorities.
Regarding soft mobility, the Departmental Scheme for Cycle Routes, Greenways, and Hiking Trails was modified, with a contribution of €18,000 from the Department for securing cycle paths. Support for the agricultural sector includes subsidies for farmers in difficulty (€15,000), development of the wine sector (€33,000), beekeeping aid (€5,000), and the creation of 4 local product processing workshops (€27,000).
Port policy and the fight against marine submersion were also addressed, with credit adjustments for port works in Boyardville, Saint-Martin-de-Ré, and Château-d’Oléron, as well as land acquisitions in Charron for the construction of dikes.
