The Town of Châteaubernard has announced that two sycamore maples located in the Echassier Park will be felled this Thursday, October 1st. Following a comprehensive health assessment, it was determined that these trees, which are no longer alive and have hollow sections, pose a danger to both park visitors and nearby parked vehicles.
The municipality prioritizes alternative solutions to felling whenever possible, such as bracing or establishing safety perimeters. It is also noted that some dead trees can be preserved for their ecological value, providing refuge and food for biodiversity.
Since 2020, 407 trees have been planted in the municipality. Furthermore, a landscaping project for Echassier Park is currently under consideration.
