Faced with the damage observed on homes linked to drought and soil rehydration phenomena, the municipality of Saint-Yrieix-sur-Charente is preparing a new request to the Prefecture of Charente. This initiative aims to obtain recognition of natural disaster status for the period from January 1st to September 30th, 2026.
Homeowners experiencing cracks or other damage to their property, directly attributable to this phenomenon, are urged to compile a file. This file must be sent to Mr. the Mayor, along with a signed written request.
The required elements include the dates when the damage appeared, its evolution over time, and any relevant supporting documents such as photographs, reports, or expert assessments.
The deadline for submitting these requests is set for December 14th, 2026. Completed files can be sent by mail to Mr. the Mayor or submitted directly at the town hall.
It is emphasized that the precision and documentation of the submitted elements are crucial to effectively support the municipal request to state services.
