For this new cycle, two architects are invited: Sophie Bertrand, an architect based in Eymoutiers since 2019, who designs contextual, contemporary architecture in continuity with the existing; and Simon Teyssou, founding architect of Atelier du Rouget, distinguished by the Grand Prix de l’Urbanisme and the Global Award for Sustainable Architecture.
Both have led numerous projects in the Park's territory and will host conferences to explain their working methods and approach to designing architecture in rural areas.
Sophie Bertrand will speak on Wednesday, October 14 at 6:30 PM at the media library in Felletin and on Thursday, October 15 at 8 PM at the town hall's event space in Treignac.
As for Simon Teyssou, he will speak on Friday, October 16 at 8 PM in the exhibition hall of the town hall of Eymoutiers and on Saturday, October 17 in Meymac, during a special day organized by the Park around his work.
This October 17th day, in partnership with the Pays d’Art et d’Histoire des Hautes Terres Corréziennes et de Ventadour and the Conseil d’Architecture d’Urbanisme et d’Environnement de la Corrèze, will begin with Simon Teyssou's conference presentation at the cinema in Meymac at 10 AM. Afterward, a visit will be offered at 2 PM to discover the rehabilitation project of the old farm of the castle of Davignac, now converted into housing and a café-restaurant, followed by lunch.
The day will conclude with the inauguration of the exhibition « Des territoires possibles » (Possible territories), in Égletons.
These events, scheduled as part of Architecture Month, are an opportunity to grasp the importance of architectural work in rural areas, which, through a variety of commissions and programs, requires working with limited resources, environmental challenges, and in consultation with the territory.
The Park hopes to open spaces for dialogue and reflection on this theme.
