'Lovers go home', directed by Juan Sebastián Mesa and a co-production between Colombia, Spain, Canada, and France, has received the Industry award at the 2026 San Sebastian Film Festival. Produced in France by Dublin Films, the film benefited from the support of the Region and the accompaniment of ALCA, particularly for its writing, development, and production.
The filmmaker also participated in a creation residency at the Chalet Mauriac in Saint-Symphorien. The film's synopsis describes the nascent virtual relationship between Alejandra, a young single mother working in a webcam studio in Medellín, and Andrew, a disabled war veteran living in New Jersey. Their conversations evolve from sexual requests to unexpected complicity, leading Andrew to decide on a surprise trip to Medellín to meet Alejandra, prompting a re-evaluation of their true selves.
This feature film, to be shot in English and Spanish (VOSTFR), is a production by Rhayuela Films, Dublin Films, Potenza, and Camera Oscura. It received development and production support from the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region in partnership with the CNC and accompaniment from ALCA.
