On October 6, 2026, the CMA Nouvelle-Aquitaine – Corrèze and Crédit Agricole Centre France celebrated five exemplary paths illustrating the vitality of craftsmanship in Corrèze. These initiatives, ranging from creation to the preservation of craft trades and local businesses, actively contribute to the territory's future.
The evening was attended by local dignitaries, including Mr. Vincent Berton, Prefect of Corrèze, Mr. Franck Peyret, Vice-President of the Departmental Council, Ms. Fouzia Fatmi, Commercial Director of Crédit Agricole Centre France, and Laurent Melin, President of CMA Nouvelle-Aquitaine – Corrèze.
Among the awardees, Julien Breuil, after a career in catering, founded Maison Julien in 2021, a bakery-pastry-confectionery with four workshops that highlights local products. His goal is to modernize his methods while respecting traditions.
Marlène Estrade, with Marlène Création, has been crafting personalized wooden objects since 2015, combining artisanal creation, design, and laser cutting and engraving technologies. She focuses on unique, custom-made pieces.
With nearly forty years of rare expertise, Marianne Peter practices paper marbling in Naves. She applies this technique to bookbinding, textiles, and wall decoration, and passes on her craft by hosting a student.
The municipality of Sornac, represented by its mayor Patrick Veau, was recognized for its efforts to preserve local businesses. A space has been developed to house a butcher shop, which opened on August 17, 2026 with CMA support, ensuring an essential service in this rural area.
Julie Bérioux, who transitioned from optician to dressmaking, created Douce Manufacture in Cosnac in 2022, offering alterations, repairs, and durable textile creations, including a range dedicated to Corrèze.
Julien Breuil, Marlène Estrade, Marianne Peter, and the municipality of Sornac will represent Corrèze at the regional awards ceremony in November 2026.
This initiative by CMA Nouvelle-Aquitaine – Corrèze aims to support, promote, and raise awareness of those who keep craftsmanship alive in the region, thereby contributing to its economic future.
