A new prefectural order, dated October 28, 2026, modifies drought-related restriction measures in the department. The 'Vienne Amont' zone moves to alert, while other zones previously in crisis see their level reinforced. Restrictions are lifted for the 'Rivière Vézère' zone.

The prefecture announced this Friday, October 30, 2026, the entry into force of new provisions concerning water resource management. The prefectural order of October 28, 2026, establishes the move to Alert status for the "Vienne Amont" alert zone. Other alert zones that were previously in crisis are now placed on reinforced alert. Conversely, restrictions are lifted for the "Rivière Vézère" zone. The "Rivière Dordogne" zone remains without a specific management level.
The order also recalls, in its article 3, specific provisions concerning the washing of funeral monuments and watering of flowers in cemeteries during the All Saints' Day period. These measures are permitted if the available water resource is sufficient for the supply of drinking water to the population. This derogation is valid until November 15 inclusive. In case of tension on the water resource, municipalities can provide rainwater collected via a cistern to their residents.
This order is applicable from tomorrow, Saturday, October 31. It will be available on the VigiEau website from Saturday. A frequently asked questions (FAQ) section regarding the restriction measures is also accessible on the prefecture's website for the Corrèze.
