The event, part of the World Cleanup Day, aimed to bring together companies, administrations, professional associations, and economic actors for a common action. This initiative sought to raise awareness about the importance of environmental cleanliness and civic engagement.
In total, nearly 200 participants responded. Among them, over 70 young people actively contributed to the collection, highlighting the involvement of new generations in ecological causes.
The effort resulted in the collection of a significant amount of waste: 35.9 kg of packaging, 29.05 kg of household waste, and 68.8 kg of glass. A notable effort was also made in collecting cigarette butts, with an impressive total of 14,700 items gathered, the majority on Saturday alone.
The City of Niort and Macif extend their congratulations and thanks to all participants for their mobilization and contribution to this major environmental event.
