The Symbo is currently carrying out a renaturation project on the La Belle river in the communes of Périgné and Secondigné/Belle, aiming to improve biodiversity and water flow over 1.3 km.

The Symbo has initiated a significant renaturation project for the La Belle river, located near the hamlet of « Le Puy d’Ancry », within the communes of Périgné and Secondigné/Belle. The work, entrusted to the company CHOGNOT, focuses on restoring the riverbanks and bed.
The project involves replenishing the bed of La Belle with 2,500 m3 of crushed limestone aggregates over 1.3 km. This intervention aims to diversify aquatic habitats and improve water flow. Additionally, four old meanders will be restored and re-watered over a length of 280 meters before the recalibrated bed of the Belle is refilled.
With a duration of eight weeks, this project has a total cost of €215,000. It receives financial support of €172,000 from the Adour Garonne Water Agency. The SYMBO covers the remaining €43,000 through self-financing, sourced from contributions from its member intercommunalities and the GEMAPI tax.
Comprehensive monitoring (piezometric, thermal, biological, and morphological) will be conducted in the coming years to assess the impact of these works on the quality of the aquatic environments of La Belle.
