On Thursday, October 15, 2026, the City of Bergerac and the Bergeracois Agglomeration Community (CAB) organized a day dedicated to performing arts professionals, marking the start of a series of discussions on the future of local cultural policy.

This initiative aims to foster exchanges between elected officials and sector professionals, to better understand the realities of performing arts in the Bergeracois region, and to build a collective reflection on the future of cultural policy.
Philippe Mallard, deputy mayor of Bergerac for Culture, presented the main axes of this approach. These include better mapping of performing arts actors and dynamics, placing cultural rights at the heart of public policies, and deepening the issues of cultural mediation and artistic and cultural education.
Discussions will also address the needs expressed by professionals, particularly regarding workspaces, support for creation, and assistance with show dissemination.
Through this series of meetings, the City of Bergerac and the CAB aim to create conditions for a diverse and ambitious cultural policy, attentive to everyone's place in the territory's cultural life, while preserving creative freedom and artistic standards.
