The Departmental Mixed Syndicate for Waste in Dordogne (SMD3), in partnership with ecosystem and Ecomaison, is launching the Great Solidarity Toy Collection. From Monday, November 2 to Monday, November 30, 2026, 15 collection points will be open in Dordogne for residents to drop off unused toys.

The goal is to give a second life to toys that are in good condition and complete, whether they are outdoor games, indoor games, board games, electric or electronic toys, or even "gift" toys. These donations will be reused or, failing that, recycled.
This initiative aims to promote donation as a sustainable solution, combating waste: 3 out of 10 French people still throw away their toys. A network of partner stores and associations in Dordogne facilitates participation.
After the collection, 7 partner associations (le Coin du Partage 24, Passerelles, Question de Culture, Récup’Acteurs, Seconde Vie, Solidarité Ribéracoise, and Secours Populaire de Périgueux) will handle the toys to sort, clean, and repair them. This process creates integration jobs and supports the social and solidarity economy. Unrepairable toys will be de-polluted and recycled by Ecomaison and ecosystem.
Collection points are spread across the territory. The complete list of 15 waste disposal centers and the SMD3 headquarters is available to find the exact locations and dates.
