During the first edition of the Limouzi Film Festival, held on October 10 and 11, 2026, at the Château de Brie in Champagnac-la-Rivière, the Park served as a partner. The festival, dedicated to rural life, featured film screenings and discussions. The Park notably led a round table following the screening of the documentary J’ai égaré les ombres, alongside Esther Chevreau Damour, a doctoral student and specialist in the night. Approximately fifty participants discussed the role of night in rural territories, the evolution of nocturnal uses, and issues related to light pollution, biodiversity, and the preservation of the starry sky.
On October 28, the Park was present at the Ménigoute Festival, a national event dedicated to nature. Invited by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region and the National Botanical Conservatory of South-Atlantique, the Park participated in a conference on the identification and preservation of old-growth forests. It also presented an experiment conducted since 2024 in the Dronne watershed.
This experiment aims to identify areas potentially harboring old-growth forests using a method of deep learning and image processing. Initial results are promising and confirm the value of this approach for exploring vast territories and better targeting inventory areas. Work continues to consolidate this tool and extend it to the entire Park.
These festival participations allowed the Park to share its commitments and promote its actions, whether for raising awareness about the challenges of the night or for advocating the preservation of old-growth forests.
