The SDE 24 Sector Committees, held in October 2026, underscored the syndicate's commitment to the municipalities of Dordogne in addressing energy, climate, and economic challenges.

The Sector Committees organized in October 2026 by the Syndicat départemental d'énergies de la Dordogne (SDE 24) provided an opportunity to review the actions undertaken for the municipalities. These meetings aimed to present the SDE 24's organization and activities, to support local authorities in evolving their infrastructure and energy uses, particularly concerning network modernization and energy transition.
Electricity distribution remains a core mission of the SDE 24. As the organizing authority, the syndicate finances and carries out work on the networks, especially in rural areas, to strengthen installations, secure lines, bury networks, and manage extensions for new connections. The goal is to improve the quality of electricity supply and the infrastructure's resilience to climate events. The monitoring of the concession granted to Enedis (2020-2050) ensures service quality. In 2025, 223 network extensions were completed, and 2,985 urban planning requests were processed.
Public lighting is another major area of action, with the SDE 24 managing 81,117 lighting points on behalf of the municipalities. Modernizing equipment and developing LED solutions aim to reduce energy consumption, with a target of 50% reduction by 2050, in line with the TEPCV law of 2015. Since 2019, La Régie 24 has been responsible for maintenance, carrying out approximately 3,000 interventions in 2025. It also services electric vehicle charging infrastructure and has processed 9,685 work declarations.
Addressing climate challenges and public spending control, the SDE 24 is strengthening its support for energy sobriety and efficiency. The DIRECT service offers pre-diagnostics and energy audits for public buildings, along with administrative, technical, and financial support. The syndicate also studies renewable energy projects, such as photovoltaics and renewable heat. The Contrat Chaleur Renouvelable en Périgord aims for 15 GWh of renewable energy by 2028. The SDE 24 also coordinates an energy purchasing group for 503 members (2026-2028 market) and assists 12 inter-municipalities with their Territorial Climate-Air-Energy Plans (PCAET).
Sustainable mobility is a priority, with 183 charging stations managed by the SDE 24, 181 of which are operational, to improve coverage in rural areas. In 2025 and 2026, 12 fast 50 kW charging stations were commissioned, funded at €502,000 excluding tax, with a €308,000 subsidy from the State. The deployment of 25 new charging stations is underway, and an additional 5 stations per year are planned for 2027-2030, with an annual budget of €500,000 excluding tax.
These Sector Committees highlight the importance of cooperation between elected officials, the SDE 24, and technical teams to identify local needs and develop tailored solutions. The development of renewable energies, renovation of public buildings, network modernization, cost control, and evolving mobility are key levers for preparing the territory's energy future. Through its various competencies, the SDE 24 reaffirms its commitment to supporting the municipalities of Dordogne in a concrete and collective energy transition.
