The exhibition, titled "Mises au jour" (Unveiling), highlights the new acquisitions of the Departmental Fund for Contemporary Art (FDAC) for the year 2025. The opening reception will be held on Friday, October 16, at 7 PM.
The Department of Dordogne, as part of its policy to support visual arts, regularly enriches the FDAC. This collection, established in 2002, reflects the vitality and diversity of artistic practices in Périgord, encompassing painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, and mixed media.
The 2025 edition marks the inclusion of works by artists Pédro Alves ("Figure Liminale 2"), Jules Andrieux ("Mini-reliefs"), and Sophie Hawkes ("Sphère de nuit" and "Sous-bois"). The exhibition also features artists already represented in the collection, such as Aude Arnold ("Pause"), Catherine Aerts-Wattiez ("Apocalypse n°1"), Natalie Cosson ("Pure Poésie"), Eltono ("Portrait de promenade"), Simon Gales ("Antonia"), and Elizerman (photographs "Somerset" and "On the road").
The FDAC plays a crucial role in cultural dissemination. The works are regularly presented through exhibitions, outreach programs, and partnerships, notably with the Dordogne-Périgord Departmental Cultural Agency, and are made accessible to diverse audiences, including schools and local authorities.
