As part of the October Rose initiative, the Alcide Dusolier School in Nontron will welcome the Bergo’Bus from the Institut Bergonié on Friday, October 9, 2026. This day aims to enhance prevention and health education for students and staff.
The program includes two main workshops for middle and high school students. From 9 AM to 12:15 PM and 2 PM to 5 PM, 4th and 3rd-grade students will participate in a one-hour session on physical activity and sedentary behavior, led by Arthur Ducourau, an Adapted Physical Activity teacher. Concurrently, from 9 AM to 4 PM, high school students will attend a one-hour workshop focused on cancer prevention, screening, and self-examination techniques.
These interventions will be conducted by Juliet, a prevention officer at the Centre hospitalier de Nontron, and the Bergo’Bus team. Separate sessions will be offered to groups of girls and boys to ensure a suitable environment.
A prevention stand will also be available on the school's forecourt from 11:30 AM to 2 PM. Open to all, it will provide a space for information and discussion on health and prevention, managed by the Bergo’Bus team and its partners.
This event aligns with the school's commitment to making health education a concrete experience, enabling young people to meet professionals and gain valuable knowledge for their current and future well-being. It also highlights the successful collaboration between the National Education system, Institut Bergonié, local health stakeholders, and educational teams.
