The Town of Blaye, led by Mr. Mayor and the municipal councilors, is organizing a gathering this Monday, October 19th at 12 PM in front of the town hall, in response to recent acts of violence and vandalism.

In the face of fires at town halls and public buildings, as well as looting of shops in several French cities such as Limoges, Marseille, Lille, Bordeaux, Calais, and Grenoble, the municipality of Blaye does not wish to remain indifferent. These acts of violence and vandalism are seen as an attack on democratic institutions and the public liberties of all citizens.
The Town expresses its solidarity with the elected officials, municipal agents, residents, and shopkeepers of the affected communes, and commends the commitment of law enforcement and emergency services.
This gathering aims to collectively reaffirm the commitment to republican values, respect for institutions, and living together. An appeal is made for mobilization in calm and dignity.
The municipality also wishes to thank the Blaye high school students for their exemplary behavior during recent demonstrations, highlighting their ability to remain calm and not be drawn in by external groups seeking to provoke disturbances.
Everyone's presence is expected.
