The Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region and ALCA have revealed the five recipients of the 2026 "Author Support Program," an initiative designed to assist experienced professionals in cinema and audiovisual.

As part of its policy to structure professional careers in cinema and audiovisual, the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region and ALCA have created a dedicated support program titled "Aide au parcours" (Support for the Creative Path). This initiative is aimed at experienced authors and author-directors from Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Five laureates will benefit from this human and financial support from October 2026 to October 2028.
Out of 43 applications received, 12 authors were shortlisted for auditions. Among them, five directors were selected for this regional program, which awards €12,000 and personalized support over 2 years.
This program aims to protect the long-term creative process, often characterized by income discontinuity and precariousness. It encourages artistic risk-taking, exploration of new forms, research or documentation work, and experimentation with innovative writing or production methods. The goal is to sustainably strengthen the trajectories of authors and contribute to the region's artistic vitality.
ALCA will soon publish portraits of the five artists and document this long-term support.
