Initiated by the Department of Gironde, the 8th edition of the social film festival runs from October 5 to 8, 2026, in several towns across Gironde. On Wednesday, October 7th, the festival will make a stop at the University Bordeaux Montaigne for an afternoon of screenings and discussions on current major social issues.
More than just a film festival, this event aims to be a space for meeting, exchange, and reflection on the issues that affect our society. Through a selection of fiction, documentaries, and animated films, it invites the general public, students, and professionals to take a sensitive look at major social questions of our time, including gender social norms, child protection, and aging.
The programmed works also highlight human and collective initiatives that strengthen solidarity and create social bonds.
Three films will be screened at the University Bordeaux Montaigne on Wednesday, October 7th, from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM, in the amphitheater of the Maison des Suds. These include two short films and one feature film.
Following the screenings, a discussion will take place with African colleagues hosted at the university for an Erasmus "Staff Week" organized during the same week. A friendly reception will extend the exchanges after the meeting.
The event will take place on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM, at the Amphitheater of the Maison des Suds, on the Montaigne Campus in Pessac. Ticketing is available online, with a few free places potentially offered.
