River enthusiasts, whether fishermen, kayakers, or simply nature lovers, can now enjoy a brand-new, specially designed boat launch ramp located in the heart of the Aubarède area in Saint-Seurin-sur-l'Isle.
This project, spearheaded by the Gironde Fishing Federation in partnership with the AAPPMA of Saint-Seurin sur l’Isle and EPIDOR, was conceived with a strong environmental ambition to reconcile river access with the preservation of natural habitats. The ramp was constructed using natural materials, notably crushed limestone, to blend seamlessly into the landscape without permanently altering the riverbanks.
Over time, vegetation will gradually reclaim the area, allowing the structure to merge even further into its surroundings while meeting the site's technical and ecological requirements. This is an innovative achievement, being the first ramp of its kind in Gironde, demonstrating that it is possible to facilitate usage while preserving natural environments.
This collective project was made possible thanks to the financial support of the National Fishing Federation, the Region, the AAPPMA of Saint-Seurin sur l’Isle, and the municipality of Saint-Seurin sur l’Isle.
