Following the success of the first event, the 'Shredding and Composting' operations are returning this autumn to Gironde. These initiatives aim to enable residents to maintain their gardens sustainably, prepare their soil, and transform plant waste into valuable resources for soil enrichment, moisture retention, and protection of plants against the cold.
Two free sessions are available to residents: on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, from 9 AM to 12 PM and 2 PM to 6 PM, and on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 2 PM to 5:30 PM. The events will take place in Castelnau-de-Médoc, in front of the waste disposal center.
The program includes free shredding of branches with a diameter of less than 13 cm. Larger trunks and unsuitable vegetation can be deposited at the waste disposal center. Free distributions of shredded material and compost bins are also planned, along with practical workshops and advice on composting and mulching.
