On the occasion of the European Week for Waste Reduction, the Jalle-Eau Bourde Community of Communes is organizing an event on Saturday, November 28th in Saint-Jean-d’Illac, focusing on responsible consumption and reuse.

The Jalle-Eau Bourde Community of Communes continues its mobilization for the European Week for Waste Reduction (SERD), this year under the theme 'Move from ultraconsumption to responsible consumption'. A highlight will take place on Saturday, November 28th, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the Espace Quérandeau in Saint-Jean-d’Illac.
An 'animation village' will allow residents to discover various solutions and participate in practical workshops on waste reduction, reuse, and responsible consumption. Partners such as Zéro Waste, Recycl’Ô Sources, and a master composter will be present. 'I will have more information next week and will be able to provide concrete examples of workshops,' specifies Lauraina Awaiki, waste sorting and prevention animator for the Community of Communes' waste management service.
This initiative aims to raise awareness, share best practices, and encourage everyone to act at their own level to reduce their waste.
Furthermore, elementary schools have also committed to fighting textile waste. Students participated in a clothing collection organized within the schools and created posters to raise awareness among their peers about clothing waste and the importance of giving clothes a second life. These items will then be collected by Le Relais.
