On the occasion of the Fête de la Science (Science Festival), educational and research institutions in the region are mobilizing for the 26th edition of the Scientific Circuit. This event aims to transmit knowledge and expertise to middle and high school students, sparking their interest in science and current technical advancements. This year, 58 scientists will meet with students across five departments in the Southwest.
In Gironde, the Scientific Circuit, established over 25 years ago, will take place from October 5th to 9th, 2026, on the Bordeaux university campus. Approximately 1,500 to 2,000 students are expected to participate in about fifty engaging workshops. Attendees will explore diverse fields such as AI coding, archaeology, astronautics, aeronautics, and microbiology.
For the third consecutive year, the Scientific Circuit extends beyond Bordeaux. Scientists will make stops in four other departments: on Monday, October 5th in Ribérac (24) at Lycée Arnaut Daniel, on Tuesday, October 6th in Fumel (47) at Lycée Marguerite Filhol, on Thursday, October 8th in Mont-de-Marsan (40) at Lycée Duruy, and finally on Friday, October 9th in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port (64) at Lycée de Navarre.
These traveling stops will allow students to discover research in plant sciences, contemporary history, agroecology, artificial intelligence, oncology, engineering, geography, neuroscience, cardiovascular diseases, art history, energy, migratory fish studies, epidemiology, and digital sciences.
The Scientific Circuit is co-led by the CNRS and the University of Bordeaux, with coordination from Inserm and Inria. The event is supported by Bordeaux INP, CEA, the INRAE Nouvelle-Aquitaine-Bordeaux center, Université Bordeaux Montaigne, Arts et Métiers, and the University of Pau et des Pays de l'Adour, in partnership with the Rectorat de l'Académie de Bordeaux.
