The New Aquitaine region has accredited 233 structures under the France Santé network, exceeding 2026 targets and improving local healthcare access for its residents.

The deployment of the France Santé network in New Aquitaine reflects the State's ambition to guarantee simple, rapid, and equitable access to care for every citizen. This commitment is particularly important in such a vast and diverse region. The joint mobilization of state services, health insurance, local authorities, and healthcare professionals provides concrete responses to the challenges of accessing care and maintaining local services, thereby contributing to territorial cohesion and reducing inequalities.
Sophie Brocas, Prefect of the New Aquitaine region and Gironde, emphasizes that the network offers concrete solutions to the challenges of healthcare access and the preservation of local services.
Sarah Sauneron, Director General of the New Aquitaine Regional Health Agency (ARS), highlights the essential role of these structures in organizing care pathways and responding to the daily needs of the population. She notes that the 233 accredited structures demonstrate the remarkable mobilization of field actors to facilitate easier access to quality healthcare.
The Maisons France Santé network, whose accreditation in New Aquitaine is managed by the Prefectures, the New Aquitaine ARS, Health Insurance, and departmental councils, aims to sustainably strengthen local healthcare provision and improve its clarity for users. Accredited structures offer services such as the presence of a general practitioner, a nurse, opening at least five days a week, no excess fees, and participation in the Care Access Service (SAS) ensuring a response within 48 hours.
Various structures can be accredited, including multi-professional health centers (MSP), primary care teams (ESP), health centers (CDS), medical practices, mobile health units (médicobus), and local hospitals offering general medicine consultations. The regional strategy has prioritized structures meeting national criteria, particularly those located in areas facing difficulties in accessing care.
The first accreditation phase resulted in 233 structures being accredited in New Aquitaine by September 2026, surpassing the initial target of 176. Accreditations will continue in 2027 with a national target of 437 structures.
Specific funding supports the development of these structures. Contracted structures benefit from specific 'France Santé' funding from Health Insurance, totaling €8.55 million for the first phase in New Aquitaine, averaging €50,000 per structure. Non-contracted structures can receive support through the Regional Intervention Fund (FIR) of the New Aquitaine ARS, with a dedicated envelope of €1.8 million.
As of September 2026, 253 structures were accredited, including 228 contracted and 25 non-contracted, achieving 131% of the 2026 regional target. Contracted structures include MSP signatories of the interprofessional convention agreement (ACI) and health centers, while non-contracted ones include MSP without ACI, ESP, medical practices, médicobus, local hospitals, and pharmacies.
In Lot-et-Garonne, 26 structures have been accredited. The multi-professional health center in Pont-du-Casse, accredited on February 12, 2026, proactively organized coordinated care to address the anticipated departure of doctors and enhance the territory's attractiveness. The health center in the Lavardac basin, accredited on December 18, 2025, offers remote consultations to improve access for distant residents and has obtained the Handiprim label for its inclusive care.
