The European Union and France are strengthening their environmental strategies. In Nouvelle-Aquitaine, recent events such as the forest fires in Gironde and the Landes, and the coastal erosion in the Pays basque, highlight the urgent need to act against climate change.
The European Commission presented the Green Deal in 2019, aiming for continental climate neutrality by 2050. France has set an ambitious goal to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by 2030. Ecological planning, launched in 2023, coordinates actions from all stakeholders to meet these challenges.
In Nouvelle-Aquitaine, the regional COP (Conference of Parties) brings together the State, the Region, and numerous partners for a shared action plan. The DREETS, co-led with the Regional Council, manages the 'Employment-Skills' aspect of this COP. The aim is to anticipate the impacts of the ecological transition on jobs and skills, and to define responses in training, guidance, recruitment, and professional transition support.
Ecological transition, defined as all measures to limit the environmental impact of our activities, seeks to rethink production, consumption, and organization within a sustainable development framework. For businesses, this means adapting their activities (energy, waste, mobility, purchasing, digital, infrastructure) while ensuring their long-term viability.
The European Social Fund can be mobilized to support these initiatives. This call for projects in Nouvelle-Aquitaine aims to finance actions related to ecological transitions, supporting economic changes and the adaptation of economic actors to their work environment.
