From October 20 to November 20, 2026, Bordeaux Métropole is organizing a public consultation on the 3rd simplified modification of its Local Urban Plan (PLU 3.1). The goal is to reduce the consumption of natural, agricultural, and forest areas (ENAF) within the metropolitan territory.

This initiative is part of the Climate and Resilience Law, which sets the objective of "Net Zero Land Take" (ZAN): to halve the consumption of these areas by 2031, reaching net zero artificialization by 2050. In the past 10 years, 1,165 hectares of natural, agricultural, and forest land have been consumed within the metropolitan area.
To follow this trajectory, Bordeaux Métropole, along with its 28 municipalities, has launched this 3rd simplified modification of its PLU. This consultation follows the one held from March 14 to September 1, 2025.
Residents of Saint-Médard-en-Jalles are invited to share their views. The consultation is open from Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at 9 a.m. to Friday, November 20, 2026, at 5 p.m.
To participate, you can consult the consultation file and give your opinion online on the Bordeaux Métropole participation website at participation.bordeaux-metropole.fr/processes/PLU-ZAN. A file and a paper register are also available at the Saint-Médard-en-Jalles Town Hall during opening hours.
Contributions from citizens will inform the elected officials in their decisions, alongside ongoing technical studies.
